The story is set in the 1870s in the whaling village of Sag Harbor and follows Elizabeth as her husband returns aboard the Shark’s Maiden, the last whaling ship in the harbor, which was believed to be lost at sea. He arrives as its sole survivor. Shortly after his return, a strange illness sweeps through the village, making Daniel the target of the townspeople's superstitions, and his life is once again in danger. To uncover the truth behind his return, Elizabeth teams up with a broken pastor and a vampire-hunting witch to prove that he wasn’t alone.

This narrative is reminiscent of the show Midnight Mass,, Stephen King's ’Salem’s Lot, and Nosferatu. The project offers an atmospheric retelling of the legend of the Demeter.
